It is yet another great day...full of responsibilities and new challenges. This is my new responsibility and challenge...
My name is Claudia, a couple weeks ago, I decided to organize a 12-Week Weight Loss Program and Challenge for a group of individuals. I have struggled most of my teenage and adult life (granted I'm only 30) with loosing weight and keeping it off. I've heard the stories, I've been there and done that, but what makes it truly different is that I have come to a point of realization that didn't hit me before. I needed to liberate myself from this excess (of weight), which represented a battle of emotions with the past, while striving to live better my present and future.
For me loosing weight is not just about following a new healthy diet or exercise, it's about finding closure within myself to let go off that excess (or security) in my life.
This is one of my moments of truth in life, and I'm ready to succeed and overcome it.
Together with other individuals, we will be doing weight ins every two weeks, but also participate in healthy eating habits classes to learn (or relearn) what are the appropriate nutrition facts and how we must make an educated decision when we eat. For purposes of positive semantics...I have decided from now on to refer the verb "to eat" as "to nurture". In order to keep a positive mindset, I must choose foods that will nurture my body, my temple.
Along with good eating habits, it is important to commit to a minimal (30 min) activity.
My day is rather sedentary for the most part (due to work), as I'm sure is the case for many people. Sometimes I feel drained and don't even want to take a 10 min walk. Integrating this activity as part of my day is crucial. Its a combination that goes hand in hand for a successful weight loss.
This blog will serve as my personal story to a challenge. 12 weeks is the start, but this will go beyond that, this will be a change for life.
